  10.        This release note describes patch SG0000224 to IRIX 5.3.

  12.        1.1  _S_u_p_p_o_r_t_e_d__H_a_r_d_w_a_r_e__P_l_a_t_f_o_r_m_s

  14.        This patch contains bug fixes for all RealityEngine and
  15.        RealityEngineII platforms.  The software cannot be installed
  16.        on other configurations.

  20.        This patch contains bug fixes for IRIX 5.3.  The software
  21.        cannot be installed on other configurations.

  25.        This patch contains fixes for the following bugs in IRIX
  26.        5.3.  Bug numbers from Silicon Graphics bug tracking system
  27.        are included for reference.

  29.           +o On RealityEngine and RealityEngine II the icons in
  30.             'clogin' will turn black (or black stripped) when the
  31.             cursor is passed over them.  This typically occurs only
  32.             after rebooting or power cycling.  (Bug #224784)
  33.  
  34.           +o The graphics pipe can hang when multiple graphics
  35.             applications are simultaneously rendering and at least
  36.             on of the applications is performing copy rectangles
  37.             followed by a convolve with a LUT or Scale/Bias. This
  38.             has been seen with stereo applications using multiple
  39.             contexts, such as IL based applications.  The symptoms
  40.             are that fifo timeout messages are logged to SYSLOG
  41.             then the graphics restarts.  (Bug #253163).

  74.        Patch software is installed like any other Silicon Graphics
  75.        software product.  It must be installed from the miniroot.
  76.        Follow the instructions in your _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n
  77.        _G_u_i_d_e to bring up the miniroot form of the software
  78.        installation tools.

  80.        Follow these steps to select a patch for installation:

  82.          1.  At the Inst>prompt, type

  94.          4.  You may find that two patches have been marked as
  95.              incompatible.  If this occurs, you must deselect one
  96.              of the patches.

  102.          5.  After completing the installation process, exit the
  103.              _i_n_s_t program by typing

  108.        To remove a patch, use the _v_e_r_s_i_o_n_s _r_e_m_o_v_e command as you
  109.        would for any other software subsystem.  The removal process
  110.        reinstates the original version of software unless you have
  111.        specifically removed the patch history from your system.
